Aosta is the beating heart of the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley, from where the most beautiful mountain areas are easily accessible. Aosta is surrounded by several smaller municipalities well worth exploring. They can easily be reached from the town centre by car, public transport and even by bicycle, either using the cycle path or along the ordinary road network.
